National Eligibility
cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Admission to MBBS / BDS Courses NATIONAL
ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) is
applicable for admissions to the following:- (i) All India Quota Seats. (ii)
State Government Quota Seats where the State Government concerned so opts.
(iii) Private/Management / NRI Quota Seats in all Private Medical / Dental Colleges
or any Private / Deemed University. The Central Board of Secondary Education
shall be the organization to conduct National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for
admission to MBBS / BDS courses. In view of the above, the Central Board of
Secondary Education, Delhi will be conducting the National Eligibility Cum
Entrance Test for admission to MBBS /
BDS Courses. The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the
entrance test, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the
Counselling Authorities/Admitting Institutes. The counselling for successful
candidates under 15% All India Quota seats is conducted by the MCC / DGHS. The
Counselling for admission in seats under the control of other States Universities
/ Institutions shall be conducted as per the notifications issued separately by
the authorities concerned. During counselling, the eligibility criteria,
self-declaration,various documents, etc. of the eligible candidates shall be
verified as per norms specified by the respective authorities and Medical /
Dental Colleges.
Pattern of the Entrance Test:-
The Entrance Test shall
consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with
single correct answer & 25% Negative Marking) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).
The duration of test would be 3 hours.
Language of the Question Papers:-
(i)
Candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi. (ii)
Option of medium of Question Paper should be exercised while filling in the
application form and the option once exercised by candidates cannot be changed
later. (iii) Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in
English only and the candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual
Test Booklet i.e. in Hindi and English. (iv) In case of any ambiguity in translation
of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.
Scoring and Marking
(a) Each item carries 4
marks. For each correct response the candidate will get 4 marks. For each
incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score. No deduction
from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an
item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in
answer sheet, if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one
answer indicated in a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be
negatively marked.
Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats
(a) He / she has
completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on
or before 31st December of the year of his / her admission to the 1st year MBBS
/ BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL. (b) The upper age limit for candidates
seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 31st December
of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age
limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of
Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
